7:00 pm: Equitable Grading Practices in the World Language Classroom

March 27, 2023

PRESENTED BY  KRISTIN ARCHAMBAULT, NNELL  RI REPRESENTATIVE

FREE WEBINAR OFFERED BY RIFLA (RHODE ISLAND)
What does a B in Italian or French at the end of a marking period really represent? If the grade is based on traditional grading practices, the answer is not always clear. While most language teachers want to accurately reflect student progress in developing language proficiency, traditional practices may unintentionally do just the opposite. During this webinar, attendees will examine traditional grading practices that may cause inequity. The presenter will then offer alternatives based on ACTFL Proficiency Standards that more accurately represent what a student can really do with the language. Attendees will leave with some quick fixes that can be implemented right away as well as suggestions for further study. This webinar is offered by RIFLA via Zoom on March 27, 2023 at 7pm.

Local teachers will also be sharing their expertise on technology and target language strategies. We have so many exciting things planned and we would love to see you there!
