Summer Institute

The 2016 NNELL Summer Institute theme is “Whole Child, Whole World” and will focus on educating the whole child including core content, global competency, creativity and self-expression.

Tentative Schedule:

  • Thursday, July 14th: Optional site visits:
    Morning: Jefferson County Newcomers Summer Programs: Come meet our newest residence from all around the globe! Summer programs are designed for early language learners focusing on English.
    Afternoon: Kentucky Center of the Arts Academy for Arts and World Language Integration: A collaborative effort initiated by the KY Center of the Arts for cross curricular collaboration between arts and world language teachers.

  • Friday, July 15th & Saturday, July 16th: Sessions and workshops with local and national leaders TBA.

  • Sunday – July 17th: Regional and State Representative Advocacy Workshop 8:30am – 11:30am open to everyone. Time to reflect on the institute, consider our take-aways, and develop a plan to implement them as the new school year begins!!
