professionals to submit a proposal for an article about teaching less commonly
taught languages in pre K – grade 8 programs. Please send your title and headings

If your topic and targeted age range are appropriate to NNELL and to this issue’s theme, and if your headings (or outline) are clear and organized, then we will ask you to submit the first draft of your article by September 15. Your article will go through a multi-phased editing process and we will ask you for photos to accompany the article. This is a long process with the goal of a publishing date in early December.

Fall 2009 Author Guidelines
Learning Languages, the journal of the
National Network for Early Language Learning (NNELL), serves
the profession by providing a medium for the sharing of
information, ideas, and concerns among teachers, administrators,
researchers, and others interested in the early learning
of World languages. Learning Languages embodies NNELL’s
commitment to promote opportunities for all children to
develop a high level of competence in at least one language
and culture in addition to their own.
In
an effort to address the interests of the profession,
Learning Languages publishes both scholarly articles
and invited features. Both types of submission must
demonstrate the author(s)’s awareness of language
learning theories and early-language learning classroom
practices.
